Wednesday Night Program

Adults, teens, tweens and kids attending the Wednesday Night Program on the steps in front of the fieldhouse/community centre in Heron Park on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

The Wednesday Night Program continues to evolve.

Originally pitched as an activity evening for at-risk teens and tweens, it has become a popular event for families with young children, and an opportunity for local teens to gain volunteer hours for high school.

We continue to offer structured and unstructured physical activities, food and fun for residents of all ages. Adult supervision provided.  Parents are always welcome.

The WNP is every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Community Centre Design Ideas

Heron Park Field HouseAre you interested in discussing ideas for a new Community Centre at Heron Park?  For the past couple of months we have been tinkering with different interactive and participative design processes during the Wednesday Night Program to help generate ideas for a new Community Centre at Heron Park with people of all ages.  We would like to continue to collect as many thoughts, suggestions, examples, needs and desires in attempt to build a collection of ideas that will reflect the neighbourhood’s character and identity.

For more information on how to get involved, please join us on Wednesday nights at the Field House.  Or in the meantime, take a look at the new category in the left column on the website entitled, “New Community Centre Design,” for some recent examples of some of the collaborative work that has already begun.
